Sociology and public policy are closely linked fields, as sociology provides valuable insights into the social dynamics and structures that underpin public policy decisions and their impact on society.

Sociology is the scientific study of society and human social behavior, including the structures, institutions, and processes that shape social life. Public policy refers to the decisions and actions taken by governments and other institutions to address social problems and meet the needs of their constituents.
